Fun and Fellowship Committee
The Fun and Fellowship Committee will launch in early February 2020 to plan new opportunities for social activities, friendly gatherings, etc., as well as to provide additional possibilities for service for NOVA OA members. If you’re interested in serving or have ideas for activities, contact us at funandfellowship@oanova.org.
Locally Produced Literature Committee
The Locally Produced Literature Committee helps the NoVA Intergroup when there is a gap or a need for additional literature for our local OA membership. The goal is to help OA members’ abstinence and recovery through the written word. The Committee follows the OA Guidelines for Locally Produced Literature. See the Resources tab for our locally produced literature. If you want to help, or have ideas, contact us at literature@oanova.org.
Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee is committed to carrying the message of OA to the general public and the health care community. Committee activities include arranging press releases and public service announcements through the local media avenues and providing an OA booth at health fairs or conventions of health care professionals. Contact us at outreach@oanova.org.
Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee is responsible for coordinating events in support of OA such as workshops, retreats, or activities, including with other intergroups or Region 7. Contact us at specialevents@oanova.org.
Sponsorship Committee
The Sponsorship Committee supports sponsorship in OA in Northern Virginia. We run workshops, provide resources, answer questions, and help people find sponsors and other connections. We especially want to help those who are thinking about becoming sponsors, new sponsors, and people who have any question or challenge related to sponsorship. If you would like to join the committee, or simply have some ideas you’d like to share, contact us at sponsorship@oanova.org.
Twelfth Step Within Committee
The Twelfth Step Within Committee produces our monthly newsletter, NoVAtions, and updates and publishes our meetings list, “Where & When,” in print and online. Committee members also monitor our 24-hour Information Line assuring all calls receive responses and callers are made to feel welcome and supported. Contact us at 12stepwithin@oanova.org.
Website Committee
The Website Committee was formed to work on the recent website redesign and remains active to help support the webmaster in keeping the OA NoVA IG Website relevant and up to date. If you want to be a part of the Committee, contact us at website@oanova.org.
